Despite the revolution of connectivity the world has experienced over the last ten years, in which time is calculated in bytes per second and the world lies within the reach of a finger, mass media still remains fundamentally unchanged.
Content created and controlled by traditional corporate conglomerates continues to dominate the way in which entertainment is viewed, despite the fact that such companies remain utterly disconnected from the world in which its viewers reside.
The time has come for a change. Not because of demand, but because of natural progression. The culmination of unrestricted global communication and the people’s desire to watch what they want, when they want it, has catalyzed an evolution of mass media.
From the Shadows is not the answer, but rather, poses the question to the answer: where will we go next? It is foreseeable that in the future, the power of the media will no longer lie not at the hands of a select few, but with the people. With nothing more than a computer, a connection, a camera and a dream, an individual has the power to utilize off-the-shelf technologies in ways never before thought possible in order to transform this dream into a reality.
